Not everyone is talented at various kinds of art. People have a tendency to find an art they are good and work to become even better at it. So, it is not right to criticize others' talents. People many not be good at everything, but they can be good at something and that something can help them to survive in this world.

It absolutely essential to criticise! It's more useful if it's constructive and people are also telling you how to improve but still useful to know if somebody dislikes your work. The only way to get better is to objectively see what you are doing wrong, not what you are doing right. It's always nice to get a compliment, but not very helpful when it comes to artistic development.
